Forane 454B (R-454B) is for systems designed for R-454B only. It is NOT a retrofit and must NOT be used in R-410A equipment. Check your outdoor unit's nameplate to confirm your system uses R-454B before ordering.
R-454B is classified A2L (mildly flammable). Follow all local codes and safe handling practices. Handle and store accordingly.
Refrigerant is non-returnable once the can is opened.
Recharging with R-454B — newer systems designed for R-454B that blow warm, ice up, or run constantly are often low on charge. This kit includes a 24 oz can of Forane 454B refrigerant with the charging gauge hose (the Sealant Kit also includes the sealant injector). Rule of thumb: if your system is not heating or cooling properly, assume the charge is about half empty — check your unit's nameplate for the refrigerant type and charge weight before ordering, and size your order to it. Example: if your nameplate charge is 96 oz and the system isn't heating or cooling properly, figure it's sitting near 48 oz — you'd need roughly 48 oz more, which is 2 cans at 24 oz each. For R-454B systems only. NOT a retrofit for R-410A systems.
